Mummy's boy: Anthony Joshua says he still lives with his mother despite being worth over N240.8 billion
Anthony Joshua, a 34-year-old British boxer of Nigerian heritage, has explained why he still lives with his mother, stating that a potential girlfriend would have a difficult time persuading him to move out.
After beating Wladimir Klitschko and earning an estimated £15 million, Joshua moved back into his mother's two-bedroom former council apartment in 2017.
He defeated Robert Helenius in August and is currently looking for his next bout, which is scheduled for 2024.
The British boxer warned prospective suitors they would have to compete with his mother, Yeta Odusanya, during an interview with Louis Theroux.
Joshua, in the interview, also talked about his tight relationship with his family.
Anthony Joshua worth 200 million
According to the Sun, Joshua is reportedly worth 200 million pounds, estimated to be about 240-8 billion in Nigerian currency.
Anthony Joshua has endorsement agreements with companies like Hugo Boss and Land Rover.
Joshua is ranked among the 35 richest stars under 35 in the United Kingdom ranked by the Sunday Times.
He recently quit Sky Sports for an exclusive £100 million deal with DAZN in return for two fights per year till he retires.
Joshua on why he stays with his mother
Speaking to the BBC He said, 'I still live with my mum.
"In our culture, we grew up in our own family home, we support our parents.
"Why am I going to move out and leave my mum by herself, for some girl? Family is the most important thing.
"When a girl gets with me, she ain't just marrying me, she's marrying my family."
Because he can't live up to people's expectations of him, the level-headed boxing star—who isn't openly in a relationship—admits that he prefers to keep his personal life quiet.
Joshua previously had an inconsistent affair with Nicole Osbourne, his child's mother and a former school acquaintance, with whom he once purchased a £500,000 apartment close to his house.
With a few exceptions, the 34-year-old fighter usually keeps his life remarkably secret on Instagram.
Following his stunning victory against Jermaine Franklin in April, the heavyweight boxer flirtatiously referred to Laura Woods as his "dream date" in an interview with the broadcaster.
In an attempt to find his next big fight, Joshua attended the US Grand Prix last month.
