Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Wolves at the Emirates Stadium was marred by a significant defensive blow as right-back Ben White was forced off in the first half with a hamstring injury.
White, who was making his fourth consecutive start after a previous injury layoff, signaled he could not continue and was replaced by Myles Lewis-Skelly around the 30-minute mark.
This injury compounds Arsenal's existing defensive crisis, which includes absences for Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, and Cristhian Mosquera.
White's return had been crucial, especially since Jurrien Timber had established himself as the primary right-back earlier in the season.
The match itself saw Arsenal win thanks to two own goals from Wolves, moving them five points clear at the top of the Premier League after bouncing back from a loss to Aston Villa.
However, the victory was dampened by renewed concerns over the team's defensive depth, with manager Arteta describing the news on White as "bad" and acknowledging the physical strain on his squad.
"He felt something in his hamstring, and it is not good news," he said, confirming the injury was likely linked to White’s sudden increase in minutes after recovering from a knee issue.
Arteta stressed that the defender had been pushed into a heavy workload because Arsenal "didn’t have any other solution" in recent matches.
