Messi: LeBron James hails GOAT, celebrates iconic goal on Inter Miami debut

In the 94th minute of his Inter Miami CF debut, Lionel Messi scored a free kick that will live on highlight reels forever, creating one of the greatest moments in Major League Soccer history.

Early on Saturday, at DRV PNK Stadium, history was made when a left-footed strike from the top of the box gave the team a 2-1 victory over Liga MX rival Cruz Azul to start their League Cup group stage.

For Lionel Messi's historic debut against Inter Miami CF, the best personalities and athletes flocked to DRV PNK Stadium.

Celebrity entertainer Kim Kardashian was seated pitchside during the pregame festivities.

Serena Williams, a tennis legend who won 23 Grand Slam women's singles titles, was also present.

LeBron James, the four-time NBA MVP, shared a pregame hug with Messi as the GOATs connected in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

James, who recently declared he is not retiring, was in attendance to watch Messi play his first MLS game.

Right before the opening whistle, esteemed Latin singer Becky G sang the national anthem.

James shared stories on Instagram all night long, proclaiming Messi the GOAT in one of them.

James seemed just as excited as everyone else and  continued with another video of the highlight, this time with the comment "WOW WOW WOW."

Since Messi and Busquets were unveiled by Inter Miami, this was their first outing and one to remember.
