Mauricio Pochettino to sanction Chelsea's £70m move for Martinez

Mauricio Pochettino's confirmation as Chelsea boss is set to happen in the coming days and the Argentine tactician is believed to be an admirer of his compatriot Lautaro Martinez.

Chelsea have been widely linked with moves for the likes of Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen but a move for Martinez seems more likely considering the potential fee and Inter's willingness to do business.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea will be required to pay around £70m for his services and could push ahead with any deal, irrespective of the future of the returning Romelu Lukaku.

Martinez has been instrumental in the 2022-23 campaign for Inter, leading them to the Champions League final where they will face English side Manchester City. 

He has notched 24 goals and 10 assists in 51 games across all competitions for the Nerazzurri.
