A victory for Michael Carrick's revitalised side would see them equal Ruben Amorim's record for the longest Premier League winning run.

The Red Devils are riding high after a stunning 3-2 victory over league leaders Arsenal last weekend. Meanwhile, the Cottagers bolstered their own European ambitions with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Brighton and Hove Albion.

In a remarkable turnaround, Manchester United have defeated both Manchester City and Arsenal in consecutive Premier League fixtures under interim manager Michael Carrick.

Following a 2-0 derby win, United delivered a five-goal thriller at the Emirates Stadium. Goals from Bryan Mbeumo, a thunderous strike from Patrick Dorgu, and a sensational winner from Matheus Cunha handed Arsenal their first home defeat of the season.

Carrick, strengthening his case for the permanent job, became the first manager since February 2010 to secure back-to-back wins against the top two teams in the league table. This run of form has put United in a commanding position in the race for a top-four finish.

United head into the match in sixth place on 38 points, with Chelsea in fourth on 40 and Liverpool in fifth on 39, but can move back in the top four with a win. The Red Devils boast the longest unbeaten streak in the division at six games. Their attacking prowess is evident, having scored in their last 11 league matches while conceding just once in their last three games at the Theatre of Dreams.

However, Fulham present a formidable challenge. Marco Silva's side have found a new level of consistency, losing just one of their last eight matches across all competitions. The Cottagers have been particularly impressive on their travels, collecting 10 points from their last five away games after a difficult start to the season on the road.

Now sitting seventh in the table and just six points shy of the top four, Fulham will be confident they can cause an upset. The teams played out a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage earlier this season, and Fulham's last league win at Old Trafford came in February 2024, though that remains their only victory there in their last 20 attempts.

Team News

Manchester United suffered a significant blow against Arsenal as Patrick Dorgu, who scored a spectacular goal, sustained a serious hamstring injury that is expected to sideline him for 10 weeks. Matheus Cunha is likely to replace him in the starting lineup, either on the wing or as a central striker.

The Red Devils have few other injury concerns, with Matthijs de Ligt (back) and Joshua Zirkzee (unspecified) being the only other absentees

For Fulham, manager Marco Silva may have right-back Kenny Tete available again after a thigh problem. However, Rodrigo Muniz and Sasa Lukic are set to remain on the sidelines. Nigerian internationals Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, and Samuel Chukwueze have returned from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Predicted Lineups

Man United: Lammens; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Mainoo, Casemiro; Diallo, Fernandes, Mbeumo; Cunha

Despite a recent setback, Manchester United's renewed energy and attacking prowess should see them through this contest. The team has been playing with noticeable freedom and flair, boasting a wealth of high-profile offensive talent that can make the difference.
