Manchester City to battle PSG and Manchester United for Super Eagles star

Manchester City have joined the race to sign in-form Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer. 

Osimhen is attracting interest from Europe’s top clubs for his excellent displays in Serie A and Europe this season. 

The Super Eagles star is currently Napoli’s and Serie A’s leading scorer with 19 goals in 22 league games for the Neapolitans. 

Osimhen has also created another five goals for his teammates while he also has three goals in five Champions League games this season. 

With the Nigerian enjoying his most prolific season yet, Europe’s top clubs have taken notice. Paris Saint-Germain have been credited with an interest, although Manchester United are currently leading the race. 

However, the Red Devils now face a battle with their city rivals Manchester City, who have now joined the race to sign Osimhen. 

According to Plettigoal, City have asked about the services of Osimhen, although they have Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, which makes a transfer unlikely. 

Nonetheless, Osimhen will be a man in demand when the transfer window opens this summer, even though potential suitors will have to pay a fee of over €100m to sign the Nigeria international. 

Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille on a five-year for a club-record fee of €75m in 2020. The Super Eagles star still has two years left on his contract at Naples.
