Manchester City are reportedly set to make a move for RB Leipzig and Croatia defender Josko Gvardiol after months of interest and discussions behind the scenes.
Manchester City keen on Gvardiol
Gvardiol is one of the most highly-rated defenders in Europe at the moment and he possesses all the qualities required of a Guardiola defender.
According to 90min, Real Madrid are also interested in signing the 21-year-old but City are believed to be more advanced than Carlo Ancelotti's men although things could change quickly.

Gvardiol has a reported release clause of £100m in his contract but it is believed that Leipzig would be willing to do a deal for less than that figure.
Verdict - Good move for City
With Aymeric Laporte potentially leaving the Etihad this summer after a season to forget on a personal level, Gvardiol represents a perfect replacement, albeit a much more expensive one.
