This was his fifth 40-point game of the season and seventh overall since joining the Lakers. Crucially, this performance moved Doncic into the top 10 in Lakers history for career 40-point games, surpassing Magic Johnson.

Finding himself among Lakers royalty—a list topped by Kobe Bryant and featuring legends like Shaquille O’Neal, Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Magic Johnson—highlights just how special Doncic is.

The record-breaking didn't stop there. Doncic’s outing marked his 39th career 40-point double-double, moving him ahead of former Lakers big man Anthony Davis for the fourth-most among active players.

Within the Lakers franchise, he has tied Magic Johnson for the sixth-most 40-point double-doubles. Furthermore, he tied both Bryant and O’Neal for the most 40-point double-doubles as a Laker before age 27 since the NBA/ABA merger.

By reaching 51 total career 40-point games, Doncic also jumped ahead of Russell Westbrook for seventh place among active players.
