According to the latest annual report from Forbes, the Florida-based club has seen its market value increase by 13% over the past year, successfully unseating Los Angeles FC ($1.32 billion) from the top spot.

The club's rapid financial ascent is primarily attributed to the continued impact of Lionel Messi.

Since the Argentine superstar's arrival in 2023, Inter Miami's annual revenue has nearly quadrupled, jumping from $56 million in 2022 to an estimated $200 million (£158 million). This revenue surge is underpinned by record-breaking sponsorship deals, a massive spike in global merchandise sales, and consistently sold-out matchdays. Forbes also notes that the club generated an operating profit of $50 million last season, the highest in the league.

Inter Miami’s billion-dollar status places it among the global elite, with a valuation now exceeding that of several established Premier League sides, including West Ham United and Everton.

The club leads a growing group of five MLS franchises now valued at over $1 billion, alongside LAFC, LA Galaxy ($1.08bn), New York City FC ($1.02bn), and Atlanta United ($1bn). This commercial dominance follows a historic year on the pitch, where the club secured its first MLS Cup title in December 2025.

Since his arrival in July 2023, Lionel Messi has fundamentally transformed Inter Miami from a bottom-table side into a dominant force, leading the club to its first three major trophies: the 2023 Leagues Cup, the 2024 Supporters' Shield, and the 2025 MLS Cup.

Statistically, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner has maintained an extraordinary output, recording 77 goals and 43 assists in 88 appearances across all competitions as of February 2026.

His individual accolades during this period include being named MLS Cup MVP in 2025, winning back-to-back Landon Donovan MLS MVP awards (2024 and 2025), and securing the 2025 MLS Golden Boot with 29 goals in just 28 regular-season matches.

Furthermore, the 38-year-old Albiceleste skipper shattered the league record for single-postseason impact with 15 goal contributions (6 goals and 9 assists) during the 2025 playoffs and became the first player in MLS history to record at least five assists in a single match.
