‘Karma is a b*tch’ - Balotelli publicly celebrates the sacking of Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, by Genoa
Vieira was let go by the Serie A club on Saturday after a disappointing start to their Serie A campaign.
Genoa currently sits at the bottom of the league table, still searching for their first win of the season.
This marks Vieira's departure from another managerial role, two and a half years after he was sacked by Premier League side Crystal Palace.
Balotelli mocks Vieira
Following the news of Vieira's dismissal, Balotelli took to Instagram with a scathing post. "Now Genoa can finally focus on people who truly love the atmosphere, the fans, and the crest," he wrote, tagging Vieira directly.
"The great work experienced firsthand by Gilardino and Zangrillo [former manager and president] hasn't been wasted: it was just exploited selfishly and badly by those who came after."
He continued his tirade, accusing Vieira's tenure of undermining the club's foundation: "They exploited the immense work of Gilardino and Zangrillo, their commitment and dedication to these colours, without truly understanding their value.
“Now let's focus on GENOA and the GENOANS! Go Genoa! GO BOYS! I believed in you, and I still do!"
In a separate, more direct post, Balotelli added, "Karma is a b*tch," followed by, "God sees and provides."
In a 2020 interview with Daily Mail Sport, Vieira described the challenges of managing the Italian striker.
Balotelli, who played under Vieira at Genoa last season, saw their already-strained relationship from their time together at Nice deteriorate further in Italy.
His contentious history with Vieira dates back to their time at French club Nice, where Vieira managed from 2018 to 2020.
