What Toni said

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Toni specifically called for Juventus to sign Sandro Tonali and Federico Chiesa, two Premier League players who, according to him, could make a decisive difference in their bid to reclaim the Scudetto.

Speaking as one of Italy’s most respected former strikers, he believes the gap between Juventus and the league’s top sides, Napoli and Inter is now too wide to ignore.

He sees Tonali currently at Newcastle United as a transformative midfield presence and Chiesa struggling for form at Liverpool as a potentially high-reward signing.

Toni also pointed out the looming threat of AC Milan, now led again by Massimiliano Allegri, who can focus solely on Serie A after missing out on European competition.

He said, "Juventus must step up their game if they want to get close to the top teams and get back into the Scudetto race... I'd try to sign Tonali forever: he's expensive, but he's someone who can change your midfield. If I were Juventus, I'd bring Chiesa back on loan. He's out of the Liverpool project, so I'd bet on his desire to redeem himself."

He added, "The departures of some key players are slowing down the Bianconeri's transfer window, but if you let Vlahovic go, you need two or three big signings. Right now, there's a long way to go between Juventus and the Napoli-Inter duo. And Massimiliano Allegri's Milan, lacking the European competition, will be able to focus solely on the league.

"Sometimes it's an advantage to have just one fixture, even if European fixtures bring excitement. The Bianconeri are missing something, but I'm confident they'll make the right move, and Tudor will ultimately be competitive."

Juventus is actively seeking reinforcements during the transfer window amid speculation about player acquisitions and departures.
