Josh Okogie: Nigerian NBA star bags double-double as Hornets lose to Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Charlotte Hornets 102-97 for their fourth consecutive victory.
Anfernee Simons scored 17 of his 27 points in the second half and Jerami Grant contributed 22 points to lead the Trail Blazers to victory.
Donovan Clingan contributed 13 rebounds and Deni Avdija scored 18 points for the Blazers.
The Hornets were without LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges, and Brandon Miller.
However fringe players Nick Smith Jr. with 17 points and Josh Green with 15 points stepped up.
The Trail Blazers put up another strong defensive show on the second night of a back-to-back.

Josh Okogie shines for Hornets
Despite the defeat, Nigerian NBA star Josh Okogie was impressive for the Hornets.
He started the game on the bench and featured for 31 minutes in the encounter.
He put up a double-double of 16 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.
Okogie returns to action when the Hornets take on the New Orleans Pelicans in a back-to-back on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
