Seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic has discussed the 2025 Wimbledon men’s final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
Djokovic, 38, was bidding to claim his eighth crown at the Championships this year, only to lose in straight sets in the last four to Sinner in less than two hours.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion was clearly physically hindered in the last-four contest, a result of his fall at the end of his quarter-final victory over Flavio Cobolli.
The loss to Sinner thwarted the 38-year-old’s ambition to compete in another Wimbledon final, where he has made every title match since 2018.
Djokovic predicts Alcaraz vs Sinner
Speaking after his loss to the Italian No. 1, Djokovic cited that Alcaraz’s experience of this stage could aid his prospects of a hat-trick of titles at SW19.
“I think I will give a slight edge to Carlos as a favourite because of the two titles he’s won here and the way he’s playing and the confidence he has right now,” said the Serbian star.
“But it’s just a slight advantage. Because Jannik is hitting the ball extremely well. I think it’s going to be again a very close matchup like we had in Paris.”
What time is the Wimbledon 2025 final?
The men’s singles final will commence at 16:00 (UK), two hours later than the previous 14:00 start time.
Iga Swiatek claimed the women’s title, securing her first grass-court title at the Championships after finishing as runner-up in Bad Homburg on the eve of the third Major of 2025.
