Real Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelotti has faulted what he believes to be a major refereeing error after their 3-3 draw against Rayo Vallecano.
Los Blancos had the chance to go top of the table and while they managed to fight from behind from a 2-0 defeat to lead 3-2, a late Isi Palazon strike ensured that the spoils were shared.
What Ancelotti said
Speaking after the game, the Italian tactician commended his team's performance, as he believed they had a more impressive display than the result suggested.
“We’re on the right track and I’m satisfied. We competed well tonight,” Ancelotti said. “Tonight's draw is not as bad as the one against Las Palmas, or Mallorca. This one was better.”
However, Carlo believes they deserved more than the lone point or at least should have gotten the opportunity for a fourth goal when Vinicius's penalty was denied.
“There was a clear penalty on Vinicius. That was obvious and quite clear.”
Meanwhile, with reports of Ancelotti’s job under threat, Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho refused to shut down links to Real Madrid, as he expressed his undying love for the club; however, he paid respect to the Italian who has the job currently.
