Inter have submitted a new, improved bid to Atalanta for Ademola Lookman, as they are keen on reaching an agreement for the services of the Nigerian within the next few days.
Inter's new offer
According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, the Nerazzurri sent a bid worth €45 million to La Dea today: €40 million guaranteed and the €5 million in add-ons.
The new bid is €5 million short of Atalanta's €50 million demand, but it is closer to the target than the previous rejected €40 million offer from last week.
Inter have already agreed on personal terms with the Nigerian ace. They offered to pay the former Leipzig winger €4.5 million annually, and Lookman accepted, despite receiving an offer from Napoli with better terms.
Inter president keen on Lookman
The CAF Player of the Year is keen on joining the Champions League finalists, and the feeling is mutual, and Inter are determined to sign the Nigeria international.
During a recent interview, Inter’s president Beppe Marotta explained their interest in Lookman, revealing that they have kept tabs on the Nigerian for a while.
Despite the interest, however, it is unlikely they will return with another bid if Atalanta rejects the current offer, as Marotta said they will pursue other targets if they fail to land the Nigerian in two to three days.
