Inter Miami complete signing of former Real Madrid star
Inter Miami have signed Spanish fullback Sergio Reguilon from the free agency market until 2027, with an option to extend his contract for one more year (2028).
Herons strengthen squad
Inter Miami moved to sign Sergio Reguilón in late 2025 as part of a broader squad refresh following the retirement of the previous left back, Jordi Alba.
Reguilón, a 28-year-old left-back and Real Madrid academy graduate, was without a club after his contract with Tottenham Hotspur expired in June 2025, having last featured competitively in May 2025.
Inter Miami reportedly beat offers from LALIGA clubs by offering a more attractive project led by head coach Javier Mascherano and star player Lionel Messi. He will reportedly earn €4 million annually playing for the Herons.

What Reguilón said about the signing
Speaking at his unveiling, the former Sevilla defender shared his excitement and expressed his anticipation of helping his new squad achieve more success after a campaign in which they triumphed in the MLS Cup.
“It’s a very ambitious project, a winning club that is doing things the right way, and that’s what attracted me: coming here to keep winning and competing,” he said, per the club's website. “My objective is to keep winning, go after the trophies we’re missing, and win everything here.”
