Incredible striker - Italian journalist praises Osimhen ahead of Juventus Champions League clash

Respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has delivered a strong verdict ahead of Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League knockout play-off clash with Juventus.

Di Marzio described the Turkish champions as “a really strong team” thanks to their formidable strike partnership.

Speaking to HTSpor before Tuesday’s first leg at RAMS Park, Di Marzio singled out Galatasaray’s attacking duo of Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi for special praise.

“Galatasaray now is a really strong team,” Di Marzio said.

He added, “They have Osimhen and Icardi, two incredible strikers. Juventus has no very, very good striker.”

The duo started together in Friday’s emphatic 5-1 Turkish Süper Lig victory over Eyüpspor, with Icardi netting a hat-trick and Osimhen providing two assists.

Manager Okan Buruk is expected to deploy both forwards again as Galatasaray aim to secure a first-leg advantage at home.

Juventus, who finished 13th in the league phase compared to Galatasaray’s 20th-place finish, travel to Istanbul knowing they must contain one of Europe’s most in-form attacking duos.

The winner of the two-legged contest will progress to the Champions League Round of 16, while the loser drops into the Europa League. Galatasaray enter the clash in strong domestic form, sitting top of the Süper Lig and unbeaten in their last four matches across competitions.
