Thiago Silva has made an interesting pick for the winners of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The veteran defender was speaking after his team's 2-0 semi-final defeat against Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Joao Pedro’s brace propelled Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea past the Brazilian club in the United States.

Speaking to Globo, Silva expressed confidence in Chelsea’s chances, saying, “I now hope Chelsea can do well in the final, regardless of who they face.”

However, he admitted a potential final against Paris Saint-Germain would split his loyalties, adding, “If it is Paris Saint-Germain, my heart will be divided.

If it is Real Madrid, I’m definitely rooting for Chelsea. Now it’s time to lift our heads, wish Joao Pedro luck, and move on.”

PSG face Real Madrid in Wednesday’s semi-final, with the winner meeting Chelsea in the weekend’s final.

Silva can certainly hold his head high after inspiring the unfancied Brazilian side to the semifinals, performing at a high level throughout.
