The intense match against the host nation, Morocco, ended in a goalless draw after 120 minutes.

However, the dream concluded in a penalty shootout, as Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou made crucial saves against attempts from Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemaechi, ultimately crushing Nigeria's ambition.

He urged players to maintain focus and avoid showboating in critical moments, referencing Nigerian football legends as examples of true heroes.

"You'll hardly see any Nigerian claim their hero is a politician or a pastor, but so many will mention Okocha, Oliseh, and Ikpeba as Nigerian heroes because those memories have not been erased by greater achievements," Bovi added.

"If you're not ready to die for the nation, don't play for the Super Eagles. If you're not Andrea Pirlo, don't try the panenka; tear the net like Rashidi Yekini."

While Nigeria prepares for the third-place playoff against Egypt at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca on Saturday, Morocco will face Senegal in the final on Sunday.
