I am a big fan — Pedri names one player Barcelona must sign
During a casual interview with xBuyer, Pedri was asked which world-class talent he would like to see at Barcelona under manager Hansi Flick. Pedri's response was immediate and clear.
"A player that I really like, Musiala," Pedri stated. "I love him. Right now he's injured, but he'll recover. He's very good."
The careers of Pedri and Musiala have followed a similar trajectory, with both rising to prominence at roughly the same time. When Pedri secured the Kopa Trophy in 2021, Musiala finished third in the voting, highlighting their shared status as top young talents.
Although a severe injury sustained during the 2025 Club World Cup has kept Musiala sidelined for the start of the 2025–26 season, he is widely regarded as one of the best young players in football.
At just 22 years old, both midfielders are expected to be fixtures at the pinnacle of European football for the foreseeable future.
However, the prospect of Musiala wearing a Barcelona jersey alongside Pedri remains highly unlikely for now.
Barcelona's well-documented financial constraints have severely limited their power in the transfer market, making a move for a player of Musiala's caliber seem almost impossible.
Despite this, the club continues to produce exceptional talent from its famed La Masia academy.
