‘He's a coach's ideal striker’ - Canadian legend claims every manager wants a striker like Osimhen
Osimhen has been a standout player for Nigeria, and his goal-scoring prowess has not gone unnoticed, with ex-South African player Teko Modise also hailing the Super Eagles star.
The Super Eagles star is currently leading his country’s attack in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, with four goals.
Hutchinson, who spent a decade with Besiktas, lauded the Napoli striker for his all-around contributions on the pitch.
Hutchinson hails Osimhen
Speaking on the Obi One podcast, the 42-year-old highlighted what makes Osimhen such a valuable asset, pointing to more than just his ability to find the back of the net.
"He's a player, man, he's a coach's ideal striker," Hutchinson stated. "You know you're going to get goals from him every single game that he plays, and it's the work ethic that he puts into it."
"He's helping the team defensively like crazy. He's running up, he's running down, he never takes a second off, and that's what a coach wants," Hutchinson explained.
He concluded by summarising the striker's complete package: "He wants somebody who will play with the ball in and around the box, who can score, but most importantly, assist the team defensively when they need help."
Osimhen will be looking to help the Super Eagles of Nigeria get into the final of the 2025 AFCON competition as they face the host country, Morocco.
