AC Milan have joined the list of clubs reportedly monitoring Gabriel Jesus, as his long-term injury struggles at Arsenal have opened the door to potential moves, particularly if the Brazilian cannot find consistent minutes after his recent layoff.
The details
According to Football Italia, Milan are tracking Jesus’s situation and consider him a target, alongside clubs like Barcelona and Newcastle.
Jesus is under contract at Arsenal until 2027. However, he has struggled with fitness in recent seasons. The 28-year-old suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in January 2025 against Manchester United and was sidelined for approximately 11 months, only returning this week as a substitute in Arsenal’s 3–0 Champions League win over Club Brugge.
Before the ACL tear, he had scored six goals in seven matches, including a hat-trick vs Crystal Palace, and had tallied 26 goals in 97 Arsenal appearances since joining from Manchester City in July 2022 for £45m.
His extended absence prompted Arsenal to spend big on Viktor Gyökeres (£64m) and to lean more on Kai Havertz (also injured).
With Havertz’s return imminent, Gyokeres's presence, and Mikel Merino adequately interpreting the striker role when called upon, Arsenal can afford to lose Jesus. Milan are counting on that fact and will make a move for the Brazilian should Santiago Gimenez leave the club.
