Mikel Arteta's side bounced back from the defeat at Villa Park, beating Club Brugge to stay top of the Champions League standings.

Noni Madueke made up for his underwhelming showing against Aston Villa over the weekend, as he scored a brace to help Arsenal beat Club Brugge 3-0.

Madueke's brace was followed by a sumptuous strike from the winger on the opposite flank, Gabriel Martinelli, as Arsenal beat their Belgian rivals to maintain their lead in the UCL league phase.

Arsenal struck first in the 25th minute when Noni Madueke collected the ball on the edge of the box, turned sharply, and fired a low drive into the net.

The goal energised the hosts, and they had a sustained spell of possession; however, Arsenal kept them at bay. Just after the restart, Madueke added his second: a free header at the back post, after a pinpoint cross from Martin Zubimendi.

Less than 10 minutes later, Martinelli sealed the deal, curling a brilliant shot from outside the box into the top-right corner after some neat interplay.

Club Brugge did try to respond, but  Arsenal’s defence, marshalled by David Raya, stood firm. The Gunners also had chances to improve the scoreline, but young Dani van den Heuvel helped keep the scoreline respectable.
