The win at the Emirates Stadium marked Carrick’s second major victory as United boss, coming shortly after a notable success against Manchester City, and further strengthened belief in the team’s renewed direction.

What Wenger said

Speaking to beIN Sports, Wenger pointed out a clear improvement in Manchester United’s performances under Carrick.

“I think something is going on in this Man United team between the way they beat Man City and the way they beat Arsenal today. The way they played was very convincing,” Wenger said.

The Frenchman suggested that United now appear more organised and purposeful, particularly in high-pressure matches.

Wenger also highlighted United’s mental strength, especially after Arsenal equalised to make it 2–2, a moment when home teams often seize control.

“Usually it’s the home team who wins the game,” he explained. “But United found again the resources to score the third goal and to win 3–2 away from home in a top game.”

He added that Carrick deserved full credit for guiding his side through such a difficult moment.

Concluding his analysis, Wenger praised the tactical balance Carrick has introduced to the squad.

“I have to congratulate Carrick. He has created something. I believe that Carrick has found a good formula that is a good balance between defensive stability and a good technical level,” Wenger said.
