Gabriel Jesus has expressed a strong belief in Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League title, insisting that manager Mikel Arteta fully deserves the honour after years of near misses.
The Gunners are edging closer to their first league title in over 20 years, sitting comfortably at the top of the table with a nine-point lead and seven games remaining.
The North London side is also balancing ambitions across multiple competitions, including the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup.
What Jesus said
Having previously won multiple league titles with Manchester City, Jesus compared Arsenal’s current squad to the experienced City side he once played in.
He said, “After the first one, it was easy. Many experienced players had that winning mentality.”
However, he acknowledged that Arsenal’s squad is relatively young and still developing that elite mindset.
“Today at Arsenal, there are more young players… but it is coming, I hope. Once we win the first Premier League, everything will be much easier,” he added.
Jesus reserved special praise for Arteta, highlighting the Spaniard’s resilience after multiple second-place finishes in recent seasons.
He continued, “The club, Mikel, they deserve it a lot because it is not easy to be in charge of this project. After the last three years being second, imagine his head.”
