Good news: Anthony Joshua discharged from hospital after fatal car crash in Nigeria
The accident occurred around 11 a.m. local time in the town of Makun on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, a major and heavily used route.
Joshua, who was born in Watford to Nigerian parents, was in the country on holiday after his December 19 victory over Jake Paul in Miami.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Lexus carrying Joshua was suspected of speeding when it lost control while overtaking and hit a truck on the side of the road.

The British boxer was discharged from Lagoon Hospital in Lagos on Wednesday evening, two days after the collision on Monday, according to Nigerian officials.
He had been kept under observation following the incident, which claimed the lives of Sina Ghami and Latif "Latz" Ayodele.
Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos state commissioner for information, confirmed Joshua's release on X, stating he was medically cleared to recover at home.
"Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation scheduled for later this evening," Omotoso added.
Ayodele, a trainer, and Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach, were described as "close friends and integral members of Anthony's team" in a statement from Joshua's spokesperson.
Just hours before the crash, Joshua and Ayodele were seen together in social media videos playing table tennis.
