Georgina Rodriguez: Ronaldo's girlfriend sparks confusion, ditches $5MILLION engagement ring for old sparkler

Georgina Rodriguez has sparked a frenzy on social media once again, this time not only for her striking beauty but also for the jewellery on her finger.

The 31-year-old influencer and long-time partner of Cristiano Ronaldo recently posted a series of beachside photographs during a sunset workout, donning a chic white co-ord by Alo Yoga.

While the images showcased her enviable curves and glowing skin, there was a change in one obvious detail: she was not wearing her newly announced $5 million engagement ring, but instead an older, familiar diamond sparkler.

The carousel of photos was shared to her official Instagram account with nearly 70 million followers.

In one striking pose, the Argentine-born model kneels on the sand with her hand resting on her leg, the ring glinting prominently against the fading daylight, but it was unmistakably not the extravagant piece she recently unveiled.

Pulse Sports earlier reported the engagement ring Ronaldo reportedly gifted Georgina is worth an estimated $5 million, making it one of the most expensive celebrity rings in the world. 

Yet in her latest images, Rodriguez opted for another dazzling piece which she had always flaunted prior to the planet-sized 30-carat rock that broke the internet recently.

The jewellery mystery comes just weeks after Rodriguez and Ronaldo’s engagement announcement made international headlines.

Despite the glitz surrounding the $5 million ring reveal, the engagement has been shadowed by noticeable silence from some corners. 

Fans have raised eyebrows over the lack of public well-wishes from Ronaldo’s immediate family members, who are usually quick to comment on his milestones, as well as Rodriguez’s family too on social media.

More strikingly, the Al Nassr star and world’s highest-paid athlete has yet to publicly acknowledge the engagement on his social media channels, or comment publicly on the big news.

 For some fans, the choice may simply be practical with Gio opting to swap her multi-million-dollar engagement piece for a more wearable diamond during a beach outing.

 For others, it has sparked gossip about whether there’s more to the story.
