Fred Ambani Breaks Silence Following AFC Leopards Victory
Speaking to Azam TV after the match, Fred Ambani expressed gratitude for the team’s victory, noting that they were able to secure the three points despite facing a stronger performance from Ulinzi Stars in the second half.
He explained that AFC Leopards had dominated the first half, but after the break, Ulinzi’s half-time discussion appeared to have a significant impact on their play, making them perform at a higher level.
Fred Ambani added that the team had to implement several tactical changes during the match to ensure they maintained their advantage and ultimately walked away with the win.
“First of all, I thank God for the three points. We dominated the first, but in the second half, Ulinzi came and took over,” he said.
“Their half-time conversation in the dressing room was effective, and when you look at how they played, they were clearly above us. We had to make a series of changes to ensure we walked away with the three points.”
The AFC Leopards coach further expressed his gratitude toward Victor Otieno, highlighting that his goal was the result of hard work and consistent progress rather than luck.
Fred Ambani noted that Victor Otieno has demonstrated significant improvement even during training, and added that the goal provided the team with renewed energy and motivation, as it helped them close the gap and inspired them to fight harder together.
“I want to extend a hand of gratitude to Victor because his goal was not some guesswork. He worked hard to secure it, and even in training, he had shown massive progress,” he added.
“It’s something he has been working on, and as a team, it gives us the energy to fight more because we have closed in.”
Fred Ambani concluded by urging fans to attend their next match against Bidco, stating that the team plans to review and correct a few mistakes before aiming for a victory.
