This is according to a widely reported post by video game retailer, Mohplay.

The rumoured deal comes in anticipation of the 2026 men’s World Cup, slated to take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Sources suggest that the new installment, tentatively titled 'FIFA 2K25', could potentially be out for release as early as late 2024.

This reported partnership with 2K Sports marks a significant shift for FIFA, following the conclusion of its 30-year collaboration with EA Sports in 2022.

The decision to part ways stemmed from a disagreement over licensing terms, with EA Sports opting to rebrand its soccer title as 'EA Sports FC'.

It was rumoured that EA considered FIFA’s proposed licensing terms too restrictive, while football’s governing body is understood to have wanted to double its licensing fee of US$1 billion.

Despite the split, FIFA have reportedly stated their commitment to delivering an authentic gaming experience to fans, leading to speculations about its return to the simulation market.

“I can assure you that the only authentic, real game that has the Fifa name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans,” FIFA president Gianni Infantino said in a statement.

“The FIFA name is the only global, original title. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25 and FIFA 26, and so on – the constant is the Fifa name and it will remain forever and remain the best.”
