Eze completed a move to Arsenal from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £67.5 million, after the Gunners hijacked Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of the player.

Spurs had an agreement in place with Palace and the player, but Arsenal reignited their interest following a knee injury to Kai Havertz.

Eze, a former Arsenal academy player, has stated it was always his dream to play for the club.

The sudden turn of events took place on a Wednesday, with the Gunners moving decisively to secure the England international.

The transfer fee is an initial £60 million with a further £7.5 million in add-ons. Eze, who will wear the No. 10 shirt, has signed a four-year contract with the option for an additional year.

He was presented to the fans at the Emirates Stadium before the home game against Leeds.

Spurs boss Thomas Frank later made a thinly veiled comment about only wanting players who are genuinely committed to the club.

Fabrizio Romano reports Como forward Nico Paz prefers returning to Real Madrid over joining Spurs.

The Premier League club's €70m bid was rejected on Sunday, as Paz wants to stay at Como to consider a future at Real Madrid.

Paz scored six times in 35 appearances for Como, managed by Cesc Fabregas, and the Spaniard opened his account in gameweek one of the 2025-26 season as the Lariani secured a 2-0 win over Lazio on Sunday.

What’s next for Spurs?

As for Frank’s Spurs, the Lilywhites next host Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The North London side have had a commendable start to the new campaign, beating Burnley 3-0 and stunning Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad in matchday two.
