Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has suggested that there is a clause in Victor Osimhen's contract that could allow him to leave the Turkish champions in the January transfer window, but he reiterated that they expect the Nigerian to stay the duration of his one-year deal.

Osimhen linked with January exit

The Nigerian joined the Cim-Bom after the close of the European transfer window, as his relationship with Napoli had collapsed. The move was designed as a sort of half-way home before he landed a desired move to a top European club next summer.

However, there are reports that he could leave even sooner, as there is a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave should a suitable offer arrive in the January transfer window.

The Galatasaray leadership previously rubbished such suggestions, and as Pulse Sports reported, they plan to even keep the Nigerian beyond this season

However, a recent statement from the coach inadvertently confirms that such a clause exists, although he dismissed the notion that the player could leave but only based on his love for the club and not that they could contractually prevent such a premature departure.

What he said

“Osimhen said, ‘I will continue here; that is my thought’ since he came,” Buruk told Ersin Düzen ile Futbolün. “He is very happy here. If he was unhappy, if there was someone who said, ‘I came here; why am I here?" it could happen.”

“I don’t know the transfer conditions. The player’s desire is the main thing here. If the player wants, such a situation can happen. But when the player comes here, he thinks, ‘I will not leave here; even if there is a clause, I will stay here.”
