Erzurumspor vs Galatasaray: Osimhen delivers again to prove he's still Europe's most ruthless striker

After rescuing a point single-handedly on opening day, Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen proved once again why he operates on a completely different level. 

The 27-year-old Super Eagles talisman put on an absolute clinic, scoring two goals and assisting another in Galatasaray's ruthless 4-0 destruction of Erzurumspor.

This was not just a football match. It was a statement of intent.

After the narrow escape from the opener, Galatasaray started the match like a team possessed.

The pressure paid off early when Gabriel Sara whipped a dangerous corner into the box.

The Erzurumspor goalkeeper scrambled to clear the ball, but his weak punch fell straight into the path of Roland Sallai.

With absolute composure, Sallai smashed a left-footed shot into the net to open the scoring. Then, the Osimhen show truly began.

Yunus Akgun won a fierce battle in midfield and immediately fed the ball to the Nigerian powerhouse.

Osimhen exploded forward. He tore through the Erzurumspor defense with a terrifying burst of speed, drawing three defenders toward him.

Instead of taking a difficult shot, he spotted Akgun continuing his run. Osimhen slipped a perfect pass backward, allowing Akgun to coolly slot home the second goal of the night.

Galatasaray implemented a suffocating high press that completely panicked the opposition.

Sensing fear and danger, Osimhen hunted down the Erzurumspor goalkeeper, closing him down in a flash.

The forward easily stripped the goalkeeper of the ball and calmly rolled it into an empty net. It was a moment of pure embarrassment for the defence and absolute ecstasy for the traveling fans.

The visitors and the rest of the attack refused to take their foot off the gas. Barış sent a lethal pass completely over the top of the fractured Erzurumspor defence.

Sara gathered the ball cleanly and fired a sharp cross deep into the penalty box. Right on cue, Osimhen lunged forward to smash home his second goal of the night, sealing the 4-0 rout.

With back-to-back braces to start the season, the Nigerian icon has officially set the league on fire.

Galatasaray remains historically unbeaten against Erzurumspor, and on this form, nobody in the division looks capable of stopping their star man.
