Manchester United unveiled their home and away kits for the 2025-26 season earlier this month, sparking excitement among fans eager to purchase the new designs.

However, fans who visited the club’s Megastore noticed a policy sign displayed on a wall monitor stating, “Due to licensing restrictions, we are unable to print Cantona, Beckham, and Ronaldo.”

According to The Sun, Manchester United confirmed this licensing rule on Friday, stating that the restriction stems from Eric Cantona, David Beckham, and Cristiano Ronaldo owning their image rights, preventing the club from printing their names on shirts at the Megastore.

The club also clarified that shirt printing is limited to the current season’s designs, and fans cannot request fonts from previous seasons.

Ronaldo rose to global stardom at Old Trafford, winning three league titles, the 2008 Champions League, and the 2008 Ballon d’Or. Despite leaving the club back in 2009, the Portuguese legend remains one of the club's most beloved players and a popular name on jerseys across the globe.

What next for Manchester United?

Ruben Amorim's United are currently touring the U.S. for their pre-season preparations and will next face Bournemouth in a friendly match in Chicago on Thursday.
