Court case won - DNCG relegation decision overturned as Lyon set to remain in Ligue 1
A few weeks ago, it was reported that the DNCG had made a decision to relegate Lyon to Ligue 2.
The decision was made due to Lyon's failure to sort out their financial issues in line with the Ligue 1 budget.

The French league's financial watchdog, the DNCG's appeals committee, overturned the initial ruling and has imposed limits on Lyon's salary budget and transfer spending, in line with the club's proposed budget for Ligue 1, as reported by Abola.
The historic French club, owned by John Textor, was initially relegated due to financial issues. However, their appeal was successful, securing their place in the top flight.
In an official statement, Lyon expressed their relief: "Lyon welcomes the DNCG's decision to keep the club in Ligue 1. We thank the Appeals Committee for recognizing the ambition of the new management, determined to ensure responsible financial management going forward."
The statement continued: "The new management, supported by the commitment and dedication of our shareholders and creditors, is extremely grateful for all the support received both inside and outside the club, particularly from our fans, staff, players, partners, and elected representatives."
It concluded: "Today's decision represents the first step in restoring confidence in Lyon. We can now fully focus on our sporting objectives as we prepare for the upcoming season."
