He started ahead of the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo and justified his inclusion by scoring a hat trick in Portugal’s round of 16 win over Switzerland.
Manchester United and Chelsea to battle for Ramos
Manchester United have been a permanent link to Ramos as the club looks to purchase a reliable goalscorer and in recent weeks, emerged as front runners.
However the Red Devils are now set to face stiff competition from Chelsea for his services.
Ramos has set the whole of Europe on high alert with his performances for Benfica this season. He has contributed 35 goal contributions in just 37 appearances for Benfica, which includes 25 goals and 10 assists.
Chelsea have taken serious notice of Ramos and view him to be a great alternative to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen is expected to cost over £100 million, while the Portuguese international could be available for around £70 million.
