How it happened

Calvin Bassey started on the right side of a defensive pairing with Tim Ream, while Alex Iwobi started from the bench.

Tottenham started brilliantly, creating a number of chances, but they failed to break the deadlock until the 36th minute of the match.

Tottenham pounced on a poor pass from Bassey, leading to a goalscoring chance for the club’s captain, Son, who made no mistake firing past Bernd Leno.

James Maddison made it two in the second-half after Son threaded a pass through to him, and the England international made no mistake firing past the German goalkeeper.

Fulham had a chance to pull one back when Raul Jimenez was played through on goal, but the Mexican’s attempt was saved by Guillermo Vicario. Spurs kept a clean sheet and rode to the top of the log with the win.
