Delays are anticipated to persist until the end of the day, prompting Brighton to issue a warning via X, "There is disruption on the train lines today between Haywards Heath and Brighton due to a landslide which means some lines are closed.
“Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised and disruption is expected until the end of the day.
“We advise fans travelling to today’s game to leave early and follow @SouthernRailUK for updates."
