Barcelona’s new kid on the block Marc Guiu was in disbelief following his first senior appearance and goal for the Blaugrana, as he grabbed a dramatic late winner for the Catalans in LaLiga.

Guiu was called into the first team following a number of injuries to key forwards and made the most of his opportunity, scoring with practically his first touch for the senior team.
The 17-year-old striker was introduced as a 79th-minute substitute for Barcelona against Athletic Club and scored after only 23 seconds on the pitch, becoming the youngest Barcelona player to score on his debut for the club in the 21st century.

The graduate of Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy could not hold back his excitement after his excellent debut and raved about it in the post-match press conference.
Guiu explains feeling of scoring first Barcelona goal
Speaking after the game against Athletic Club, Guiu explained that the debut and goal were the result of a lifelong effort that finally paid off.
The youngster said, “I can’t believe it. I’m enjoying the moment. I’ve been working all my life for this opportunity and it turned out perfect.
“La Masia works, and a lot. I haven’t looked at my phone yet, I know I won’t sleep tonight. To the players of La Masia I say keep working, we are all so excited to get to this point.”

Guiu’s parents were also among the fans at the Montjuic Stadium to see Barcelona play, and were in tears following their son’s perfect start to life as a Barcelona player.
