The LALIGA champions were close to signing the Spaniard last season but failed to reach full agreement. Betis, after recently losing Youssef Sabaly to Al-Duhail, have identified 22-year-old Catalan as an ideal replacement.

The plan, according to the report, is for both clubs to pay for 50% of the player rights. Betis will keep him for next season, and Barcelona will have the option to buy the remainder of his rights in the future.

The Emerson Royal play

Both these clubs have done this before, as they jointly signed Emerson Royal from Atletico Mineiro in 2019. Barcelona then bought his rights owned by Betis in 2021 before proceeding to sell to Tottenham.
