Barcelona are discussing a move for Chelsea's striker Nicolas Jackson, according to reports.
The 24-year-old has fallen in the pecking order following the signings of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap. Despite Enzo Maresca expressing his confidence in the Senegalese, his future at the club is uncertain.
Jackson available for loan?
Chelsea reportedly slapped a €100 million price tag on the striker when talks of Manchester United’s interest became public; however, it is unlikely they will get that price, as the perception surrounding Jackson’s quality might not command that price or anything close to it.
The typical move is to send such a player out on loan, where they would be expected to shine and improve their value, as Manchester United did with the Antony loan to Real Betis.
Barcelona a likely candidate?
While it is unlikely that Chelsea will be willing to let Jackson leave on loan, Caught Offside reported that Barcelona's sporting director Deco discussed signing the former Villarreal man on a season-long deal.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have also emerged as one of the clubs keeping tabs on Gabriel Jesus's situation following Arsenal's signing of Viktor Gyokeres, as Pulse Sports reported.
