Ballon d'Or favourite Rodri snubs Messi, Ronaldo, names Man City teammate as GOAT

Rodri is arguably the world's best footballer at the moment and his opinion carries significant value in the game.

The 27-year-old Spain midfielder has been crucial for Manchester City over the past two seasons and was once again the main man as his country lifted the EURO 2024 trophy last month.

The City man knows a thing or two about the GOAT debate, having been put in some conversations as a potential GOAT defensive midfielder, with many observers insisting he can be as good as the legendary Sergio Busquets.

Speaking in an interview with GOAL, the City midfielder was asked who the greatest footballer of all time was and his answer was simple "Kevin De Bruyne"

De Bruyne has been unbelievable since moving to the Etihad in the summer of 2015, racking up 384 appearances, bagging 102 goals and 170 assists.

The Belgian may be nearing the end of his career, but he continues to perform at a high level, and City's excellent run in the second half of last season coincided with his return from injury.

However, the 33-year-old has just one year left on his current contract and with no talks planned, this could be his final season in England.
