Nottingham Forest have appealed against their four-point deduction for violating the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules

Forest acknowledged they exceeded the allowed spending by £34.5m over three years but argued that the penalty was disproportionate.

An independent commission recommended a six-point deduction, which was reduced to four due to Forest's admission of the breach and full cooperation.

Consequently, the deduction pushed Forest into the relegation zone during the international break, trailing Luton by one point.

They have previously said they were “extremely disappointed” with the verdict and believe they have grounds to appeal.
Although a successful appeal could result in a lesser punishment, there is also a risk that the appeal panel could increase the number of points deducted.
