Asisat Oshoala makes history as the most followed African sportswoman on Instagram
Super Falcons of Nigeria forward Asisat Oshoala is one of the most famous female footballers in Africa.
The 28-year-old Nigeria international who currently plays for Barca Femeni is one of the most decorated African female footballers of all time, having trophies at club and national level.
Oshoala is a five-time CAF Women’s Player of the Year and is touted to pick up the going for a sixth time at this year’s awards night slated to take place in Morocco on December 11.

"Agba Baller" as she is fondly called, recently made the headlines after scoring for the Super Falcons in their famous 3-2 comeback win against hosts Australia on Thursday.
Oshoala entered as a second-half substitute and finished off a lovely chance in the 72nd minute to give Nigeria a comfortable lead against the Matildas.
Pulse Sports reported that Oshoala triggered mixed reactions on social media over her shirtless celebration.
However, the talented forward has now seen her social media following receive a massive boost as she has finally reached the 1 million follower mark on Instagram, becoming the first African female footballer to reach the impressive six-figure milestone on Instagram.
Oshoala is also one of the Top 10 most-followed female footballers at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The former Liverpool forward is expected to return for the Falcons in their final Group B match against Ireland on Monday, July 11, 2023 at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
A win for Nigeria guarantees them a place in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup round of 16.
