Asisat Oshoala begs Barcelona to keep Rashford after super-sub performance vs Frankfurt
Former Barcelona Women's star Asisat Oshoala has reacted to Marcus Rashford’s latest outing after the Englishman helped LaLiga leaders FC Barcelona to a win at home to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Rashford came off the bench to put on a show as Hansi Flick’s men, inspired by Jules Kounde, came from behind to seal a 2-1 win against the spirited Germans on Tuesday night.
Barcelona vs Frankfurt: Match brief
The hosts started slowly when the visitors took a shock lead in the 21st minute via Ansgar Knauff to silence the fans at the Spotify Camp Nou, a lead they held to the break.
However, in a bid to get the LaLiga giants back in the game, Flick made a quick tactical change before the start of the second half, with Rashford coming on for Fermin Lopez.
The effect was felt four minutes after as Rashford delivered a stunning cross from the left wing that met Kounde, who directed his powerful header well into the Frankfurt goal for the decisive equaliser.
Barcelona completed the turnaround three minutes later when Kounde again grabbed his second to put the club 2-1 up after beautiful work from Lamine Yamal.

However, despite Kounde emerging as the unlikely hero, it was Rashford’s performance that caught the attention of Nigeria’s Oshoala.
Oshoala’s plea
After the game, the former Champions League winner with the women’s team took to her social media to express her feelings.
“Please, keep Rashford,” Oshoala, in superb former herself in Saudi Arabia and also a passionate Manchester United fan, posted on her X, formerly Twitter account.
In just 45 minutes of action, the 28-year-old Manchester United outcast, Rashford, delivered a memory display to replay Hansi’s faith in him.
Rashford created three chances, which was the most in the match, including the decisive equaliser. He also made two key passes, two big chances, completed two dribbles and recorded two recoveries.
After his latest outing, Rashford has now scored four goals and assisted two in just six matches, four starts, in the Champions League this season.
