Arsenal dump Osimhen, ready to splash cash on 26-year-old who 'guarantees goals'
The summer transfer window opens in a few months, and clubs are already planning to improve their squads with some of the best talent.
Arsenal, in particular, have been on the hunt for a striker for at least two seasons. They have watched their title challenge fizzle out in consecutive years, mainly due to a lack of significant firepower.
This is a situation Mikel Arteta is keen to address this summer, with several elite strikers being linked to the club in recent weeks.
One name that has been consistently linked is Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who is currently flying on loan at Galatasaray. However, recent reports suggest the Gunners are prioritising the signing of Sporting's Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres.
Gyokeres has scored 40 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions this season, and is clearly one of the most lethal strikers on the planet, despite playing outside the top 5 leagues.

According to transfer expert Andy Brassell, Gyokeres ticks every box for Arteta and guarantees goals, as Arsenal look to finally get over the hump.
Reports suggest Sporting would be willing to sell the player for around £58 million, a fee far below what the Gunners could pay for Newcastle's Alexander Isak or even Osimhen, whose release clause is higher.
It's expected to be a busy summer at the Emirates as Arteta looks to shake up his front line to challenge for the big trophies next season.
