While his club teammate was totally snubbed for the FIFA Awards, his fellow international was the biggest international on the night, and Liverpool star Allison Becker ensured to congratulate him.
Vinicius wins big
After a disappointing snub at the Ballon d'Or, in which he missed out on the grand prize to Manchester City's Rodri by a slim margin, Vinicius reigned supreme at the FIFA Awards gala night, as he was named Player of the Year by world football’s governing body.
While he had a dismal campaign for Brazil, the 24-year-old was absolutely sensational for Real Madrid, leading them to glory in the Champions League and LALIGA.
Salah, on the other hand, despite a remarkable individual campaign, was snubbed altogether for both the awards and the FIFA IX. Barcelona's Yamal took the spot on the right wing; however, Salah retained his place in the African XI.
Allison congratulates Vinicius
Salah's snub has been to the chagrin of many Liverpool fans who believe the Egyptian is a victim of his own success, as he posts better numbers than some of the players recognised by the awards.
Still, Allison took to the public to congratulate another teammate of his, Vinicius, saying, “ "Congratulations @ViniJr. What a joy to see a Brazilian on top.”
