Al Hilal enter race for Liverpool star after officially losing Osimhen to Galatasaray
Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez after missing out on key targets.
The 27-year-old is expected to leave the Reds this summer and was in negotiations with Napoli earlier in the window before the Partenopei ended the pursuit after failing to reach an agreement with Liverpool.
The Merseysiders have already signed another striker, Hugo Ekitike, and are in negotiations for Alexander Isak, further whittling Nunez's chances at the club next season.
The details
Al Hilal have been working hard on improving their squad this summer, with unsuccessful pursuits for the likes of Victor Osimhen and Bruno Fernandes.
The Nigerian was their first-choice striker target for the window, but he rejected multiple bids, opting to join Galatasaray. They also recently enquired about Heung-Min Son, but the Korea international has his sights set on a move to LAFC.
According to Fabrizio Romano, they are now advancing for Nunez, having presented their project to him. The Blue Waves want to seal personal terms before submitting an offer to Liverpool, as they have no issues meeting the Reds' €70 million valuation of the player, according to talkSPORT.
