'After the World Cup' — Enzo Fernandez's agent breaks silence following Chelsea suspension
Enzo Fernandez was sanctioned by Chelsea on Friday after an interview in which he flirted with a move to Spain and questioned the club’s direction after their 8-2 aggregate humiliation at the hands of PSG.
Fernandez said after Chelsea’s exit from the UEFA Champions League last month that he did not know whether he would remain at “Stamford Bridge” next season, even though his contract runs until 2032.
Rosenior stated that the 25-year-old had "crossed a line" regarding the club’s culture, effectively dropping him for the upcoming FA Cup quarter-final against Port Vale and the crucial Premier League clash with Manchester City.
What next for Enzo Fernandez?
The midfielder's agent, Javier Pastore, responded to the suspension by revealing the next steps
"Our plan after the World Cup is to meet with Chelsea again and, if there is no agreement, to explore other options,” Pastore stated.

“He’s the backbone and leader of the team; it’s only natural that, from a sporting perspective, he’s happy to be at Chelsea. He won major trophies last year and earned the respect of the entire Premier League.”
However, the agent didn't stop at praising Enzo's on-pitch contributions. He took a direct swipe at how Chelsea, under the leadership of Todd Boehly and the sporting directors, has handled the midfielder's status.
“Then there are other factors that influence decisions, whether it’s salary, respect, or the way things are handled.
"There are so many things that we aren’t seeing at the moment – or at least I, as an agent, am not seeing – that suggest the club is not handling things in the best possible way with him.”
