Nigeria’s World Cup dream ended last November in Morocco, where the Super Eagles lost 4–3 on penalties to DR Congo in the final round of the African playoffs after a 1–1 draw following extra time.

The defeat confirmed Nigeria’s absence from a second consecutive World Cup.

He said, “I am as disappointed as every Nigerian and every player on the team. But in football, as in life, you have to look forward. We now have another opportunity to redeem ourselves.”

When asked about Nigeria’s ambition to claim a fourth AFCON title, Adams avoided bold predictions, choosing instead to focus on commitment and faith.

“We will give our best and trust God for an excellent outcome,” he stated.

The Super Eagles, three-time African champions, will be aiming to improve on their runners-up finish at the last AFCON.

Adams also reflected on what it means to represent Nigeria at the highest level, describing his inclusion in the squad as a privilege.

He added, “It’s a blessing I am grateful to God for, not just for the AFCON but for being part of the Super Eagles. I don’t take it for granted. I always try to give my best, and I’m happy to be here.”
