Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk was supposed to challenge Fury for the undisputed heavyweight title, but after negotiations to seal the deal broke down in March, Fury turned his attention to Ngannou.
The fight is expected to take place in a traditional boxing ring, with three ringside judges applying the 10-point mandatory system.

It promises to be an amazing fight between two of the best fighters in their respective disciplines.
At UFC 260 in March 2021, Ngannou, 37, of Cameroon—who is currently based in Las Vegas—victoriously defeated Stipe Miocic to win the UFC heavyweight championship.

In January 2022, he successfully defended the title against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270.
A year later, he signed a contract with the PFL that included boxing.
This will be the first boxing match for former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou, and he's up against WBC heavyweight champion and undefeated lineal Fury, who is widely regarded as the greatest in his weight class.

Despite the fact that the much-awaited 10-round bout is not for a title, Fury believes that he has more on the line than in any of his prior fights.
